CrawZori

Crawli/Zorion dynamic

Context

This lore has been updated to reflect the dynamic change (from alterous f/o to platonic). I hope you understand!

Zorion is my self insert for Pokémon. They are a therapist that's secretly part of interpol.

Crawli is my platonic F/O, from the Rejuv fangame. He's also part of interpol, and a gym leader, and the head ranger...(workaholic!)

They meet because Crawli was new and needed someone to guide him. During that time they got along! Once the period was over they kept on amicable terms.

The real deal starts when they begin being sent on missions together (not as mentor but together together). During a mission Z gets hurt protecting C. Since they needed medical assistance their identity got compromised. Regardless, Crawli checks on Zorion to see how they're doing and all. That's probably when they realize how important the other is to them.

By that point they already know the other's identity [which means becoming closer, being able to talk about personal life, etc.]-- I want to imagine interpol lets them go with a slap of the wrist.

Crawli develops romantic feelings for Zorion very slowly, but I imagine when he realizes he's the one to make moves. Giving gifts, joking that the egg he gifted Zorion is their son, slight touches that linger, etc! The things is, Zorion is arospec...

When he confesses, Zorion has to come clear about their sexuality. But Crawli understands (albeit a bit sad)...until Zorion suggests an alterous relationship. And that's how they begin not dating but something else completely!

UPDATE 29/03/26:After a few years of "not-dating" (how they call it), they decide their relationship is best left as really close friends. Not because they don't love each other (they do), but because they naturally moved more towards that dynamic, along with being better for Crawli to not be left in the middle of a romantic-platonic relationship (Zorion feels a little guilty about this, and thinks he deserves better). Zorion was the one to suggest it, and while Crawli didn't want to at first, he ends up agreeing. It's difficult for him to accept it, but he ends up letting Zorion go and getting over them with time.

Dynamic

Their dynamic is hard to put in words. If I had to choose a song, I'd choose "So happy I could die" by Lady Gaga.

Zorion is quite shy, so I imagine Crawli doing most of the courting when they dated. After they become a duet, Zorion slowly becomes more comfortable with affection (both platonic and not).

Once they decide to just be friends, Crawli takes some time to himself. When he comes back, he's apparently over Zorion and keeps it polite. It takes about a year until they return to being friends.

Sometimes, you can stare into Zorion's eyes and catch a glimpse of guilt, as if regretting having ever accepted Crawli's offer of being a duet. And despite seeming over them, both have leftover feelings that are expressed through a very touchy-feely friendship. (It's okay, they'll get over each other fully in due time.)
